Stephen Cope is an award-winning writer, teacher, and yoga scholar. For over thirty years, he has been the Senior Scholar in Residence at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, in Stockbridge, Massachusetts— the largest residential yoga retreat in America.
He is the author of many best-selling books, which translate the sometimes arcane wisdom of the ancient yoga traditions into mainstream language. Among these are Yoga and the Quest for the True Self, and The Great Work of Your Life. He is also the founder of The Kripalu Institute for Extraordinary Living, a yoga research institute which collaborates with some of the world’s greatest scientists to explore the mechanisms and effects of yoga.
