Welcome to Sacred Birth yoga & doula program!

Here is a list of helpful items to have on hand for the course. Many of these books can be found second hand also. For your convenience, we have compiled a list of recommended items for this journey.

REQUIRED READING:

The Birth Partner by Penny Simkin (become familiar but not necessary to read all)

Please choose 1 prenatal yoga book. Here are two that we recommend:
“Yoga Mama: The Practitioner's Guide to Prenatal Yoga” by Linda Sparrowe “Iyengar Yoga for Motherhood: Safe Practice for Expectant & New Mothers” by Geeta S. Iyengar

OPTIONAL READING:

The Hidden Feelings of Motherhood by Kathleen Kendall-Tackett (2005 or later)

Birthing From Within by Pam England and Rob Horowitz

Placenta – the Forgotten Chakra by Robin Lim

What to have on hand

Two blankets or folded towels

Blocks or a stack of books

Small Pilates Ball

Exercise Ball

Other items that are useful:

  • Bolsters or pillows (pillows from your bed could work)

  • Yoga mat

  • Yoga strap (the belt from a robe is a good substitute)

  • Journal/Notebook 

  • Pens/pencils, art supplies 

  • A doll if you have one for learning infant massage

*Please note that any substitutions will work, these are examples. We encourage you to use whatever you may have on hand at your home.
